The Sirius Project

A Replica Adventure

This is a project website covering the construction of a historic aircraft replica and my plans to recreate the epic flight Charles Lindbergh took in his Lockheed Sirius. Check out the history, my blog, and the construction log.

Halfway through #6

Well, not really, but I do expect it to take 16 layers to make the curved portion of the diaphragm and I have 8 applied. But there will be much more work to go to complete the part. I have to make and join the straight portion of the diaphragm to the curved portion and taper it. So, I'm not really halfway through.

Recently, I talked to a fellow member of Lockheed Martin that is involved in the Legacy Committee. The committee tries to collect and archive Lockheed historical information. When I talked to him he was very interested in my project and offered to check with LM corporate to see if they would be interested in supporting the project. Unfortunately, they said they didn't have funding for it. Oh Well.

If any readers out there can put me in contact with someone that has corporate marketing experience I would greatly appreciate it. I need to ask some basic marketing questions before I pursue asking a company if they would be interested in supporting the project in return for advertising. I don't know how to value/price advertising. Help please. Thanks.
